The Nerdland Festival, which takes place on the last weekend of May, is Belgium’s largest outdoor science festival. At the event, attendees can immerse themselves in the world of science and technology by participating in workshops, conducting experiments, attending discussion sessions with panels of top researchers, and viewing exciting shows and presentations. VIB was also present as a partner of the Nerdland festival.

Alongside our colleagues from IMEC, Flanders Make, and VITO, we welcomed over 1000 children to our ‘invisible but indispensable’ booth at the festival. Over two full days, we introduced visitors of all ages to the exciting field of biotechnology through a microscopy game.
