Collaborations
VIB Technologies is supporting research across the various technology aspects in life sciences. This commitment extends to fostering strategic partnerships with other academic institutes and industry.
Innovative collaborations in Microfluidics
A key initiative is our ‘FABLAB’ collaboration with the Lammertyn Lab at KU Leuven. This partnership focuses on the development and fabrication of custom microfluidic applications. Microfluidics, a crucial technology in modern research, allows for precise manipulation and analysis of fluids at a microscale.
The FABLAB provides tailored support for microfluidic technology development. This includes design, prototyping, and fabrication services, catering specifically to the unique needs of life sciences research.
Partnership with IIMCB in the RACE project
VIB Technologies is partnering with the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB) on their core facility program in the RACE project. RACE stands for 'RNA and Cell Biology - from Fundamental Research to Therapies', aiming to support IIMCB to further evolve towards becoming a world-class center of excellence in RNA and cell Biology. VIB Technologies and IIMCB are mutually exchanging their expertise and best practices to enhance existing core facilities and establish new ones at IIMCB.
Impact on Life Sciences Research
Through these collaborations, VIB Technologies is not only enhancing research within VIB but also contributing to the broader field of life sciences. By adopting and developing cutting-edge technologies, we are ensuring that VIB remains at the forefront of scientific innovation.
